Dr. Phillips is a licensed psychologist (PY7291) in Florida and Alabama who received her B.S., in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her clinical internship at the University of South Florida. During her 26 years of clinical experience she has worked in private practice, an inpatient medical center, community mental health center, university counseling centers and a university career center.
She has served as Director of the University of South Florida at St. Petersburg's Counseling and Health and Wellness Center and as Interim Director of the University of Alabama Career Center. During her career she has trained American Psychological Association doctoral students and has held adjunct teaching positions with the University of Alabama and Argosy University in Sarasota, Florida. She has also been involved in research at the College of Nursing at the University of South Florida working clinically with veterans returning from combat who have been diagnosed with PTSD.
During her career Dr. Phillips has held executive positions with the Alabama Psychological Association as Chairperson of the Alabama Psychological Association Convention and as the Alabama State Representative to the American Psychological Association Business of Practice Network. Currently she is a member of the Florida Psychological Association, the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards, and the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapists.
